Chicken Raised Without Antibiotics

Founded in 1949, Fischer Family Poultry has grown to be Canada's largest producer of chicken raised without the use of antibiotics or animal by-products. We began marketing the product in 2007, starting with 15,000 birds per week. Today, FFPL produces over 50,000 chickens raised without the use of antibiotics or animal by-products every week.

At FFPL, we have implemented a coccidiosis vaccination program with the help of experts at Merck Animal Health. The vaccine is used for preventative maintenance to control coccidiosis, one of the most common diseases in poultry production. The use of this vaccine, coupled with carefully selected ingredients for our custom formulated diets, has allowed us to raise the majority of our birds without the use of antibiotics or animal by-products.

FFPL is a firm believer in the reduction of chemicals used in poultry production. For this reason, we have developed a program that allows us to do our part in reducing the amount of antibiotics used in chicken production, while maintaining the production of happy, healthy birds.
